What is a Visual Partnership retainer — how is it different from a one-off shoot?

A retainer gives you a planned annual production calendar: new machinery covered as it arrives, expo assets ready before booking deadlines, LinkedIn content that stays current with your business. You get the same crew, same visual style, no re-briefing every engagement.

We already have a marketing team internally. Why do we need this?

Internal marketing teams manage strategy, campaigns, and communications. They rarely have the equipment, crew, or post-production capability for investor-grade industrial photography and film. We handle production; your team handles distribution. Most of our retainer clients have an internal marketing head who specifically wants this problem off their desk.

What is the 6-month minimum about?

Visual impact is cumulative. A single piece of content rarely moves the needle — a consistent library built over 6 months does. The minimum also protects your deposit: onboarding, recce, and the first shoot cycle are front-loaded investment on our side. Six months lets us deliver actual business results, not just deliverables.

Can we pause or exit the retainer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After the minimum period, 30 days written notice exits the retainer with a pro-rata refund of any unused deposit. We also offer a Month 3 pause clause — if your business needs change mid-retainer, we can hold production for one month without penalty. This is written into every contract.

Question 5

How does the 3-month deposit work?

Accepted Answer

On signing, you pay 3 months of the retainer fee upfront (₹3L for Signal, ₹6L for Scale, ₹10.5L for Flagship). This confirms your slot and funds the first 3 months of production. From Month 4, you are invoiced monthly on the 1st, due by the 7th. The deposit is not a holding fee — it is credited against months 1–3.

What happens if we have an expo or urgent project mid-retainer?

Scale and Flagship partners get priority scheduling — urgent production requests are accommodated within the existing retainer wherever possible. Expo coverage beyond what is in-fee (such as 5-day floor coverage at a large show) is quoted as a top-up at the discounted partner rate. Signal clients get a 15% retainer discount on any top-up work.

We are based outside Chennai — does the retainer work for us?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with outstation travel billed at cost. For Mumbai, Pune, Coimbatore, and Ahmedabad, the travel cost per shoot day is typically ₹8,000–₹15,000 depending on crew size and distance. This is itemised in the proposal with no markup. For Gulf clients, we quote in AED/KWD and handle all travel logistics.

Question 8

Pricing, GST, and payment terms — what should we know?

Accepted Answer

All retainer fees are exclusive of 18% GST. A GSTIN is required for the tax invoice. Invoices are raised on the 1st, due by the 7th. Late payment beyond the 14th pauses active production until cleared.
